Binche Belgium

On Feb 3rd we went to Binche for the Dimanche Gras (Fat Sunday) Parade. There were lots of people dressed up in costumes and groups of costumed men. We liked the Ratatouille guys and Em liked Stitch. These groups would meet on the street and try to out dance each other. It was really fun day. Then on the Mardi Gray (Fat Tuesday) night we went back for the orange throwing parade. The guys wearing costumes are called Gilles and their hats weigh about 10kg. They also wear wooden clogs and amazing costumes, each handmade. We had a great night enjoying this amazing festival.
