Paris France

Sort of planned trip. On Easter Monday we were still looking for a hotel for the Wednesday that we were going to be in Paris. On a whim Buffy and I thought, "maybe they have room tonight at the hotel we're staying at". So we called and they said yes and we left in a snow storm. 2 1/2 hours later we were in Paris. Now things didn't seem to be going well. Since it was snowing in Belgium and Northern France the weather in Paris was rainy and cold. The kids were troopers and survived the cold and rain. After a good night's sleep we headed out to explore the city on the Seine. Wow is all we can say. Paris is a beautiful, clean and well designed city. We got to see all of the sights we wanted to see. Over the next two days we saw: Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Catedrale de Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, Champs Elysees, Starbucks, Place de la Concorde, Hotel National de Invalides and a Seine River cruise. We stayed at a hotel two blocks away from the Eiffel Tower and got to see it in all its lighted sparkling glory. We put on a lot of miles walking and the girls did great. At times they thought it was boring but when we found a restaurant called Gusto's, Tori was in Ratatouille heaven. Overall it was a great trip to a neat city. We can't wait to go back and see what else there is to see.
